Tonight, I had an intense craving for some Chinese food… more extreme than usual. I had one little problem though. I had called Charles earlier in the day to let him know I had a pot roast cooking. I knew I’d have to pull out all the tricks to get him to eat Hibachi for dinner instead of pot roast.
I was prepared for battle when he walked in the door. I batted my freshly mascaraed eyelashes, puckered my glossy lips, sat on his lap and asked him how his day was, nibbled on his ear, and then went in for the kill. My sweet husband conceded and decided to just eat the pot roast for lunch tomorrow. I had the usual, a little sweet and sour chicken, a little sesame chicken, a bit of honey chicken… from the grill, I got some shrimp, some noodles, rice (if you’ve ever been to Hibachi in Dunn you know the drill – it’s the best cheap Chinese money can buy except for maybe a $5.00 Bejing hooker)
At the end of our meal, the lady brought out our usual two fortune cookies. Charles opened his and it said:
“The time is right to make new friend.” (That’s not a typo, that’s what it actually said)
I laughed at his fortune cookie and said, “God made sure you got the right fortune cookie tonght. We know that isn’t meant to be my fortune cookie. (Due to the fact that there are only 2 months left in Buies Creek and I’m too busy to have fun that isn’t CAB related)” We got a good little chuckle, and then I opened mine. It said:
“You would make a good lawyer.”
HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yes I would, yes I would. Thank you God for making me laugh tonight.
